San Jacinto Guided Backpacking Trips
Backpacking in the San Jacinto Mountains is some of the best hiking and camping in all of Southern California for those just getting started with Backpacking and those who have lots of experience. Not to mention Mount San Jacinto is one of the highest peaks in Southern California, offering a view worth the elevation gain!
Location
The San Jacinto Mountains are located between Palm Springs and Hemet.
Trailheads
There are a handful of trailheads (and mountaineering routes) to access the the wilderness area, backcountry camping and Mount San Jacinto.
We use 2 trailheads for our guided backpacking trips to Mount San Jacinto, the Marian Mountain Trailhead in Idyllwild (from the west) and the Long Valley Tram Station Trailhead at the top of the ariel tram from the desert floor in Palm Springs (from the east)
Round Valley & San Jacinto Summit // $250 / person
Level 1 (Beginner)
Itineray
We will meet at the tram station in Palm Springs, ride the tram up together and start our short hike to Round valley where we would set up camp. Then we'd head up the towards the summit, check out the emergency shelter, then walk up to the summit at 10,833′ before heading back down to camp! We'd finish of the day with dinner, some hot beverages and a great nights sleep before heading back down the next day.
This trip requires no previous skills or experience. The hiking is moderately strenuous.
This trip is perfect for beginners looking for more experience and skills or those who just want someone else to plan and take care of all the details.
